About the Role
As a Sr Director, Enterprise Applications, you will act as the head of Business applications leading the strategic planning, implementation, integration and optimization of key enterprise platforms and systems to support commercial, R&D, Operations, Medical, G&A and other business functions. This role will play a pivotal role in aligning technology with business strategy, ensuring scalability, compliance and operational excellence across all functional areas.

- As a strategic leader and trusted advisor, establish and maintain the business relationship with commercial, R&D, operations, and G&A functions to understand their business processes and requirements and complement them with right sized technology solutions
- Lead and own IT Governance and partner with IT PMO and steering committee to constantly evaluate, assess the effectiveness and efficiencies of the existing technology solutions and maintain a prioritized roadmap to bring new capabilities to meet business objectives
- Lead a team of high-performing IT professionals driving a culture of empowerment and teamwork focused on business outcomes.
- Ensure that the technology solutions remain in compliance with security and data privacy policies and regulatory compliance requirements such as SOX and GxP regulations
- Responsible for managing the IT budget for all technology investments and maintaining the total cost of ownership of enterprise applications and scalability with the growth of the company.
- Bring innovation, process improvements and operational excellence through automation and advanced technology solutions such as AI and Machine learning.
- Understand the benefits and risks of Generative AI and other AI applications and implement the right sized AI solutions ensuring the protection of company data.
- Manage vendor relationships including completion of RFPs for new systems, vendor due diligence, negotiating the business terms of IT contracts, oversight of vendor fulfillment of contractual responsibilities, and monitoring service level agreement performance.
Factors for Success:
- Bachelors or masters in engineering, computer science, information systems, business or any other related fields with 15+ years of progressive experience in leading and delivering technology solutions in life sciences companies out of which at least 5 years in senior leadership roles in IT or related fields
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills in leading a team of highly skilled technical leads with a clear vision, promoting a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on innovation and operational excellence.
- Strong experience working in Life Sciences, pharmaceuticals or other FDA regulated industries managing GxP, SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, PII, PHI requirements and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented in each system
- Good experience with common Generative AI tools, Large Language Models, and hands on experience implementing safe and secure AI solutions for process automation and other use cases.
- Experience in implementing and managing multiple platforms such as Veeva, Salesforce and other platforms and systems for commercial, medical, clinical, regulatory and quality.
- Familiar with ERP systems such as NetSuite and Human resources management systems in a SOX regulated environment.
- Experience with SaaS and Cloud based applications and integrations through middleware and good understanding of cloud architecture and security.
- Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels including the executive team.
- Strong vendor management skills to manage the expectations and accountability from various IT vendors and their resources.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while also able to act decisively and tactically and be hands on when needed.
- Strong project management skills in both agile and waterfall methodologies and ability to work to deadlines successfully managing multiple business-driven initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation and communication skills to present complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner to business stakeholders effectively.

- The position will be based in our beautiful Irvine office, complete with a courtyard, snacks, drinks, and occasional catered meals. We provide a hybrid work environment.
- Remote candidates with exceptional leadership skills in leading remote teams will be considered.
- This position reports directly to our VP, Head of Digital and IT.
- Some travel may be required – up to 5%

The expected base pay range for this position is $247,500 - $346,500 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
