Job description
The Company
Cerbo is a high-growth healthcare SaaS company, doing our part in the medical market to support holistic lifestyles and personalized medicine. Our software – Cerbo EHR – is a cloud-based electronic health records (EHR) and patient portal software system. Healthcare offices across the country – and some around the world – use Cerbo for almost everything they do in their day-to-day. Cerbo originally started as a developer’s nights-and-weekends project. And has grown into one of the leading EHR systems for functional or “root cause” medicine and membership- or cash-based clinics. Because of our unique origins, we often approach things a bit differently. That is, success for us is not just about the bottom line. It’s more about providing a great product, operating with integrity, and supporting our clients and our team. During the past four years our team has grown, and thousands of practitioners and patients use our product. To this end, we’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our growing team.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team building scalable, secure, and user-centric software solutions. You’ll drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to evolve our cloud-based EHR platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing a growing team, as well as strong software engineering principles.
Objectives of this Role
Collaborating with top-level executives to strategize and implement the maintenance, modernization, and migration of our existing codebase to a cutting-edge cloud-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform.
Primary Responsibilities
Leading a software development team, providing guidance, mentorship and direction to junior developers, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Work with tech leads to modernize Cerbo’s product thoughtfully. Guide long-term platform improvements (e.g., service extraction, test automation, CI/CD maturity) without disrupting clinical users.
Lead sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and operational reviews. Ensure engineering teams are delivering roadmap objectives with transparency and focus.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and customer support, to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements.
Work with other engineering managers and technical architects to align on shared principles, reduce cross-team friction, and make forward-looking architectural decisions.
Communicate with stakeholders, including management, customers, and other teams, to ensure that software solutions meet their needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and 2 years of experience managing a team.
Proficient in PHP and product/system design.

You should be able to design and develop user-facing features using React, Vue, or similar framework. Build reusable components for future use and translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
You should have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and be able to build responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
You should be proficient in Laravel and have experience building web applications using the framework. Should be able to design and develop APIs, create database schemas, and build user interfaces using Laravel.
