Who You Are:
You’re a crypto native and have an innate curiosity that drives you to dive deep into crypto protocols. You’re at home synthesizing complex crypto market dynamics and turning them into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.
You enjoy leveraging your deep technical expertise combined with thoughtful competitive analysis to produce industry-leading research that directly shape the narrative in the crypto space. You’re always open to hearing other opinions, collaborating with a team, and learning alongside others. You’re humble yet confident and have no problem with leaving your ego at the door.
What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Research Analyst, you’ll spearhead the production of premium research products, including market analysis, competitive deep dives, and thematic reports that showcase original insights.
Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:
Lead Research Initiatives: You’ll champion various research initiatives focused on emerging crypto protocols, market trends, and investment opportunities, delivering sophisticated analysis that goes beyond surface-level metrics.
Guide Coverage Decisions: You’ll work directly with the Head of Research to help shape Blockworks Research coverage priorities and resources.
Own Valuation Frameworks: You’ll work with the Research team to develop and maintain complex valuation frameworks for crypto assets, incorporating both traditional financial models and novel crypto-native metrics.
Build and Foster Relationships: You’ll develop and grow relationships with key industry stakeholders, including protocol founders, investors, and other thought leaders, to gather unique insights and maintain a competitive edge.
Team Growth: You’ll work with the Head of Research to mentor and develop other analysts and contribute to the intellectual growth of the Research team through knowledge sharing and collaborative projects
Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.
What You’ve Done Before:
You’ve got at least four years of experience in crypto, traditional finance, consulting, or data analytics and want to grow your impact. You bring exceptional analytical capabilities and expertise in developing sophisticated valuation models and conducting due diligence. You’re thrilled at the opportunity to regularly work with data and derive some of your best conclusions from it.
You come with deep domain expertise around blockchain technology, DeFi protocols, tokenomics, or crypto market microstructure, and can’t wait to share your learnings. You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills paired with a track record of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights. You’re able to swiftly comprehend complex topics and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:
Experience and demonstrated success with on-chain data analysis and blockchain analytics tools will move you to the top of the list. Having a strong network within the crypto ecosystem, including relationships with protocol teams and industry experts, may also set you apart from other candidates. If you’ve proven your ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities before they become mainstream, we want to hear about that, too. Lastly, we’re looking for team members who may have a track record of thought leadership in the crypto space through published research or market commentary.
Salary, Benefits, & How We Work:
This is a full time exempt position with an expected salary of $130,000/year.
