About Altarum
We are a nonprofit organization that improves the health of individuals with fewer financial resources and populations underserved by the healthcare system. We partner with federal, state, and local government entities to plan and implement public health and healthcare service delivery programs.
Founded in 2001, with roots in public-sector innovation since 1946, we offer services in public health and healthcare delivery. This includes technical assistance, practice transformation, training, quality improvement, applied research and analytics, health and science communications, data modernization, and technology development.
We operate through four divisions: Population Health, Public Health Systems, Palladian Partners, and Altarum Medicare Medicaid Services for States (AMMS). Our work focuses on transforming service delivery, public health, integrating public health and service delivery, and building health infrastructure.
For example, we integrate peer recovery support services into criminal justice programs for addiction, assist states with Medicaid operations, and improve childhood lead poisoning surveillance systems. Our specialties include: Applied Research and Analytics, Health IT, Medicare and Medicaid, Behavioral Health, Military and Veterans Health, Program Implementation, Advisory Services, Quality Improvement, Maternal Health, and Reproductive Health. We also develop data and ML platforms for analytics, AI modeling, and interoperability, and provide technical business analysis.
