We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to our team! We are seeking a team player who is curious and detail oriented, who is not afraid to take on new challenges, and also is a self-starter and take on ad hoc projects.
As the Staff Accountant, you will own reconciliations and schedules and the production of financial statements as part of the month-end close. You will join our finance team located in the USA, working remotely from Brazil, to assist in improving controls and processes to help scale the Accounting function of a fast-growing company.
DEPARTMENT: G&A, Accounting
LOCATION: Anywhere from Brazil
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
- Perform month-end reconciliations and journal entries, including but not limited to: bank transaction reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, corporate credit cards
- Work together with the Accounting Manager to review the accuracy of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement to complete monthly reporting packages for departmental review
- Oversee accounts payable to maintain a healthy aging schedule (review bills for proper details and coding, route bills for approvals in a timely matter, research issues and discrepancies)
- Review employee travel and reimbursement expenses to ensure policy compliance and correct coding
- Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement while helping to establish and maintain policies and procedures
- Perform various ad hoc projects and analyses as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of accounting work experience
- Strong orientation toward systems, process improvement, and task automation
- Flexible and energetic team player
- Desirable knowledge of Netsuite, Bill.com, Tallie, G-Suite
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge (specifically Excel)
- Experience working for American Accounting (GAAP)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Advanced English skills, including speaking, you will work with native English speakers daily.
