Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bid Writer to support the development of high-quality bids and proposals. This role is ideal for someone who already has bid-writing experience and is ready to take more ownership of responses, manage sections independently, and contribute to improving bid processes and win strategies.

You will work closely with subject matter experts, sales teams, and bid managers to produce compelling, compliant, and customer-focused submissions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist in supporting the Business Services team with their deliverables

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Write, edit, and review bid and tender responses to a high standard, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with client requirements

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Take ownership of allocated sections of bids, from initial outline through to final submission

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical and business content

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Translate complex information into clear, persuasive, and benefit-led responses

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure bids align with RFP requirements, evaluation criteria, and scoring guidance

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Review and refine content to improve quality, readability, and competitiveness

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support the development of bid libraries, templates, and standard responses

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Contribute ideas to continuously improve bid processes, content, and success rates

Skills & Experience

Essential:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Post-secondary education diploma or degree

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Confident in producing large written professional materials

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong written communication skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience working with formal tenders (e.g. public sector, regulated environments, or complex procurements)

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to interpret tender documentation and evaluation criteria

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong organisational and time-management skills

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Detail-oriented

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Confident working with stakeholders at different levels

Desirable:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  3 years minimum proven experience as a Bid Writer or Proposal Writer

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Technical/business writing experience

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience in Government of Canada and/or IT sector

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Familiarity with bid management tools or CRM systems

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Understanding of bid strategy, win themes, and scoring methodologies

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Microsoft PowerPoint

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Microsoft Excel

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Microsoft Outlook

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Microsoft SharePoint

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Adobe Acrobat / PDF tools

Hybrid:

Minimum 2 days a week in office
