We are currently looking for a skilled App Engineer (m/f/d) to support us in building the fastest & most intuitive shopping app using a brand-new tech stack onsite in Hamburg or remotely within Germany!
The Shop Applications Team constantly improves the App, Mobile Website and Desktop Website. These big-scale products are each visited by over several million active users every month. The team’s focus is to provide our customers the most inspiring, convenient, intuitive, and easy-to-use shopping experience. They constantly challenge themselves to raise the bar of what is “state of the art” in customer-facing products.
What you will do
- Build and ship new high impact features and improvements to the AY App using Dart and Flutter, contributing to one of the most widely-used applications built with Flutter.
- Work closely together with other experienced developers, product managers, QA, and designers to ship new components and features.
- Proactively identify and seek to resolve technical debt and building internal tools to enhance team productivity.
- Have a direct impact on team processes by regular agile retrospectives.
Who you are
- 4+ years of programming experience, at least 2 years of app development experience.
- Extensive experience in frontend development, ideally across multiple frameworks.
- Extensive experience in Flutter.
- Strong expertise in UI development and building complex frontend logic.
- You write well-structured, efficient and maintainable code and actively keep the quality of the code base in check.
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You are used to working in an English speaking environment.
- Excellent problem-solving: You can solve conceptual, non-standard problems and exercise solid judgment based on analysing multiple sources of information.
- High autonomy and ownership: You are motivated, take matters into your own hands, and can implement a complex feature with little oversight from your manager.
- Strong communicator: You can communicate transparently, honestly, and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g. Product, Design).
- Team player: You actively share knowledge, inspire other team members, and aim to fulfill team goals.
Nice to have
- Design awareness and ability to collaborate closely with designers
- Familiarity with gRPC and Go in a shop backend environment
- Expertise in UI and Animation development
