Finance Domain QA Lead
The Finance Domain QA Lead ensures Accordion’s software and AI-enabled solutions are validated against real finance workflows, control expectations, and business decision contexts. This impactful role will be critical in translating finance-domain knowledge into acceptance criteria, scenario design, risk tiers, and domain signoff standards.
This position will ideally be based in one of our US offices and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days per week (also eligible for remote candidates).
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
What You’ll Do:
Domain Acceptance Design
- Define finance-oriented validation criteria for workflows involving accounting, close, reporting, FP&A, transaction support, analytics, or CFO decision support
- Translate finance process expectations into realistic scenarios, exception cases, and acceptance standards
Controls & Materiality Review
- Partner with QA and Engineering to identify where outputs could create business risk, control breakdowns, or materially misleading outcomes
- Help determine which workflows require enhanced review, human signoff, or restricted deployment
SME Review Leadership
- Coordinate fractional finance QA reviewers from practices for high-risk releases and scenario validation
- Create a lightweight but repeatable process for domain-level review
Pod Support
- Advise pods on business correctness, not just technical functionality
- Review evaluation results and help distinguish low-value issues from materially important issues
Continuous Improvement
- Identify patterns where technically passing outputs are still operationally weak, confusing, or risky
- Feed finance-domain insights back into benchmark sets and release criteria
You Have:
- 7+ years of experience in finance transformation, controllership, FP&A, transaction services, financial operations, or related domains
- Strong understanding of finance processes, internal controls, and how CFO organizations consume analysis and recommendations, with a focus on being practical, risk-aware, and business-minded
- Experience working with technology teams, product teams, or transformation programs
- Ability to turn business expectations into structured validation criteria and ability to distinguish theoretical correctness from real-world usability
- Strong judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills – you are credible with both finance practitioners and technology teams
- Comfortability making quality calls in ambiguous scenarios
- CPA or similar background is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
You Are:
- Excited to be part of a growing team, with a focus on driving future growth
- Passionate about delivering exceptional client service
- Knowledgeable about the relationship between Private Equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, particularly within the office of the CFO
- Willing to get your hands dirty in the details of a project while simultaneously seeing the whole picture
- Comfortable managing projects with multiple complex workstreams while also focused on your single workstream (you are managing and doing)
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Full of entrepreneurial spirit and comfortable in a fluid, flat organization
- Able to effectively communicate complex issues and solutions, and raise issues to senior team members when necessary
- A team player, able to work with team members across all levels
- Someone who enjoys mentoring others and doing meaningful work
- A leader of others; you lead by example
The annual salary for this role ranges from: $155,000 to $195,000 + benefits + bonus.
Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
