We manufacture holemaking and finishing tool systems for metal-cutting industries worldwide from our headquarters in Dover, Ohio.

Our products include industrial drills, boring tools, thread mills, reamers, and roller-burnishing tools. We also provide engineered special tools under brands like Wohlhaupter, ThreadMills USA, Superion, and Criterion. Our focus is on holemaking and finishing solutions. We use advanced engineering and manufacturing to create tooling solutions for drilling, reaming, burnishing, boring, and threading applications. Our tools work with materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, carbon fiber, copper, and high-temp alloys, and are used for porting, deep hole drilling, and hole finishing.

Founded in 1941 by Harold Stokey, we started as a job shop making tapered bearing lock nuts and accessories. In the 1960s, we introduced a universal-style spade drill with patented blade locking and particle metallurgy. During the 1980s, we developed new spade drill geometry and coatings for metal cutting. In 1992, we partnered with Allied Maxcut Engineering Company in West Midlands, England, to support European markets. In 2016, we acquired a majority stake in Wohlhaupter GmbH, a German manufacturer of precision boring tools founded in 1929.

We offer several online resources: T-A Pro Kits for drilling, the VarioBore fine boring head for diameter adjustments, the T-A Pro Material Library for tool parameters and performance, and ToolMD for accessing and downloading 2D and 3D tooling models.
