We founded Ambience Healthcare in San Francisco in 2020. We operate in the healthcare industry and have 201-500 employees. Our investors include Oak HC/FT, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), OpenAI Startup Fund, and Kleiner Perkins.

Our AI platform helps health systems with documentation, coding, and clinical workflows. It aims to reduce administrative burdens, protect revenue, and ensure compliance during patient care. Health systems across North America use it in outpatient, emergency, and inpatient settings. Our technology supports over 100 specialties, with adaptations for more than 200 specific areas like oncology, psychiatry, and emergency medicine.

Our platform integrates directly with major electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Oracle Cerner, and athenahealth. For Epic, it’s built into Hyperspace and Haiku, using SMART on FHIR and Ambient APIs, and deployed through the Epic Toolbox. We integrate with athenahealth via their Marketplace and MDP program. Cerner integration uses FHIR and REST APIs with Cerner Millennium. These integrations offer a native user experience, so clinicians don’t need to switch systems or manually transfer data. The system continuously syncs schedules, patient lists, and problem lists within the EHR.

Our AI captures patient encounters in real time, organizes clinical notes, and helps meet clinical standards. To protect revenue, it identifies HCC opportunities, guides Evaluation and Management (E/M) level selection, and suggests ICD-10 and CPT codes. This reduces risks like CDI queries, improves audit defensibility, and leads to cleaner claims.

Our operational metrics show an average utilization of 80% and a 45% reduction in charting time. The platform has improved ICD-10 coding accuracy by 27% compared to board-certified physicians. E/M coding accuracy ranges from 90% to 99% across specialties, with 93% ICD-10 substantiation across all specialties. Customers report up to $13K in revenue per clinician per year, verified by AAPC and KLAS.

Implementation averages four weeks. We’ve onboarded over 4,000 clinicians in four months at client sites. We maintain 98% customer satisfaction (CSAT) and offer ²⁴⁄₇ live support with a 15-minute service level agreement (SLA). We adhere to security and data compliance standards, including HIPAA, SOC 2 Type I & Type II certification, and GDPR. An Impact Analytics Dashboard gives real-time visibility into provider adoption and ROI.
