Atomic Cartoons

We are Atomic Cartoons, an animation studio founded in 1999 and a Thunderbird Entertainment company. Our offices are in Vancouver’s Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa’s Hintonburg neighborhood, and Los Angeles.

We create, produce, and finance animated content for various platforms. Our services include pre-production, design, Flash animation, voice casting, television series production, content creation, development, commercial spots, storyboarding, direction, Maya, Harmony, and IP development. We are known for creating the television series ‘Atomic Betty’.

Our studio designs and animates effects for CG series, such as smoke, fire, water, lava, and clouds. We also contribute to 2D Harmony projects by planning shots and illustrating storyboards for comedic narratives. Additionally, we support project coordination, track production flow, and manage shot deliveries for CG projects.

Thunderbird Distribution handles the international licensing and monetization of our animated content, managing relationships with licensees and negotiating global transactions, especially across EMEA, Latin America, and Asia.

We are an artist’s studio, made up of animators, directors, and producers. We emphasize collaboration across teams, including FX leadership, DFX/CG teams, and various department leads and supervisors. We also value independent work with minimal supervision.
