Job Description
Transforming The Way Construction Owners Use Technology & Data
Avicado’s people are our most important asset—but the systems and processes that support them must scale as fast as we do. The People Operations Systems Manager owns the operational side of Avicado’s people lifecycle, ensuring employee movement processes, people data, and enabling systems like Rippling are accurate, automated, and aligned with how our teams actually work.
This person will ensure Rippling and related systems function as a company-wide source of truth for headcount, reporting, and access, while improving the processes that connect People & Talent, Finance, Operations, and Consulting teams.
They will serve as the operational owner of the people lifecycle, ensuring that onboarding, role changes, compensation updates, and offboarding run smoothly across the organization and continuously improve as Avicado grows.
Core Responsibilities
People Lifecycle & Systems Ownership
- Own the operational execution and continuous improvement of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, role changes, transfers, compensation-related updates, and offboarding.
- Coordinate across People & Talent, IT, Finance, and Operations to ensure every stage of the employee lifecycle runs smoothly and consistently.
- Partner with IT to ensure access management (software provisioning and permissions) aligns with our organizational structure and compliance standards.
- Serve as the operational owner of Rippling, ensuring the platform supports Avicado’s employee lifecycle through accurate data, well-designed workflows, and effective platform configuration.
Process Design & Ownership
- Own our core people movement workflows, including onboarding, internal movement, and offboarding, ensuring these processes are clearly defined, well-documented, and consistently executed across teams.
- Act as the operational owner for cross-functional people processes, ensuring handoffs, accountability, and workflows are clearly defined across People & Talent, Operations, IT, and Finance.
- Design and optimize cross-departmental workflows that connect Rippling to other systems (e.g., Slack, Toggl, Salesforce, Notion, Xero).
- Collaborate cross-team to identify and automate repetitive processes within Rippling, such as those we currently experience during onboarding, department transfers, and policy acknowledgments.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work by expanding Rippling workflows or using other automation tools like Zapier, n8n, or Google Cloud.
Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate organizational and reporting structures in Rippling and ensure people data remains reliable across all connected systems.
- Support Finance, Biz Ops, and People & Talent with accurate people data and standardized reporting needed for headcount planning, compensation processes, and organizational decision-making.
- Maintain reporting and data exports that provide visibility into active headcount, organizational structure, and employee lifecycle activities.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as the operational link between People & Talent, IT, and the rest of Operations to ensure every stage of the employee lifecycle runs smoothly and consistently.
- Work with process owners across the organization to improve the efficiency of people-related workflows and systems.
- Own and continuously improve documentation for all people operations processes, setting the standard for clarity, accountability, and execution across teams.
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HRIS, Business Operations, or a similar cross-functional operational role.
- Experience administering or optimizing Rippling, ADP, BambooHR, or comparable tools.
- Experience supporting key employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, offboarding, role changes, compensation updates, benefits cycles, or performance/review cycles.
- Experience working in a growing or scaling organization where systems and processes evolved alongside the business.
- Process-minded and data-oriented, with the ability to translate complex workflows into simple, scalable systems across departments.
