Job Description

As the Engineering Team Lead within the Workplace department, you will play a critical

role in shaping the employee experience for our global teams. You will lead a squad of 3

System Administrators responsible for our core identity and device management

ecosystems (Okta, JumpCloud) within a Google Workspace-first environment.

Beyond technical expertise, your mission is to be a bridge-builder. You will work hand-in-

hand with the Helpdesk to break down operational silos, partner with Application

Management on licensing strategies and support the Campus/PMI teams to ensure

seamless integration of new offices and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Technical Excellence

● Manage & Mentor: Lead, coach and develop a team of 3 Workplace Engineers.

Foster a culture of growth, autonomy and technical curiosity.

● Technical Authority: Champion a tech culture focused on security and best

practices for Identity Access Management (Okta) and MDM (JumpCloud), specifically

within a mixed macOS/Windows and Google Workspace environment.

● Engineering Standards: Design and deliver high-quality, secured, scalable

processes. Ensure best practices in testing, deployment and documentation.

● Performance Monitoring: Define and track KPIs to measure system health and

team efficiency, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

2. Automation & Operational Efficiency

● “Automation First” Mindset: Drive the shift from manual operations to automated

workflows. Your goal is to eliminate repetitive tasks (“Toil”) for both your team and

the Helpdesk.

● Workflow Orchestration: Leverage Okta Workflows, Google Apps Script, or API

integrations to streamline User Lifecycle Management (onboarding, offboarding,

attribute syncing).

● Self-Service Tools: Build tools or scripts that empower the Helpdesk to resolve L1

issues autonomously without escalating tickets to the Engineering team.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Workplace Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Helpdesk Team to create a

unified support chain. Your goal is to empower L2/L3 support through better process

tools and documentation reducing the escalation rate to Engineering. Work alongside

Campus & PMI Teams to standardize IT infrastructure for remote sites and integrate

new entities efficiently.

● Mentoring & Communication : Encourage adoption of Workplace best practices and

architecture changes throughout the company via evangelism and education

● Application Governance: Partner with the Application Management Team to

centralize SaaS license distribution and optimize costs via automated provisioning.

● Global Expansion: Extend visibility beyond the IT department, partnering with

Product, Marketing and other stakeholders to ensure Workplace initiatives support

broader business goals.

Qualifications

● Experience: 10+ years in IT Systems Engineering, with a strong focus on

automation and scalability.

● Technical Stack:

○ Expertise in IAM/SSO (Okta certification is a plus).

○ Strong mastery of MDM/UEM (JumpCloud preferred).

○ Deep knowledge of the Google Workspace ecosystem.

● Automation Skills (Required):

○ Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

○ Experience with REST APIs and integration logic.

○ Proven ability to use automation tools (e.g., Okta Workflows, Zapier, Tines) to

solve business problems.

● Soft Skills:

○ Collaborative Mindset: You are a natural communicator who bridges the

gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

○ Problem Solver: You look for root causes and long-term stability.

○ Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.

● Language: Fluent in English & French
