About BitPay
We were founded in 2011 to develop tools for spending, accepting, and building with bitcoin and other virtual currencies. We specialize in areas like Bitcoin, virtual currencies, e-commerce, mobile commerce, blockchain, and cross-border payments. Our work involves scalable React and TypeScript UI components, responsive interfaces, and integrating with APIs. Our backend systems use Node.js and MongoDB.
We manage KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) programs. This includes merchant KYB onboarding, individual KYC verification, watchlist screening, and Enhanced Due Diligence to comply with U.S. and international regulations. We also form partnerships with enterprise and fintech companies in the crypto and payments space.
