Job Description
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, within Bosch Home Comfort Group, you will join a growing area focused on the development of electrical solutions, the new and improved heating and cooling solutions across Europe, essential for a sustainable future.
You will be part of a cross-functional team, within an international environment, developing heat pump solutions which will be assembled in different Bosch plants.
Your contribution to something big:
- Develop and design mechanical components for heat pumps;
- Generate 3D CAD models, including assemblies, and create 2D technical drawings and documentation;
- Perform tolerance analysis (2D, 3D, and statistical) to ensure functional and manufacturable designs;
- Create and maintain component specifications, including materials for components and Material Order Specifications (MOS);
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), considering manufacturing processes and assembly requirements;
- Create Bills of Materials (BOM) for all assemblies;
- Develop designs that meet targets for feasibility, performance, cost, quality, safety, legislation, and timing;
- Support sample ordering, prototype builds, and validation activities to verify and optimize technical solutions;
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and optimization of existing components.
Qualifications
What distinguishes you:
Education:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics Engineering, or a similar field.
Experience & Know-how:
- Experience in the specification and development of new mechanical components;
- Experience with tolerance chain calculation and application of GD&T;
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, construction methods, and material selection;
- Familiarity with 3D CAD and PLM tools; proficiency in Siemens Unigraphics (NX) is a plus;
- Knowledge of product engineering tools such as product design reviews, FMEA, RMS, and DRBFM.
Languages:
- Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
