Job Description
The Distributor Manager – APAC will be responsible for managing and growing our regional distributor network across Asia-Pacific. This includes strengthening performance in existing markets, identifying and onboarding new partners (with priority on China and Taiwan), building sales capability, driving market penetration, supporting deal closure, and ensuring repeat ordering momentum. The role requires experience in selling innovative medical devices and digital health solutions, strong commercial operational discipline, and the ability to influence clinical and executive stakeholders across diverse healthcare systems.
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
Commercial & Market Expertise
- 5–10+ years experience in medical devices, digital health, diagnostics, ultrasound, POCUS, or similar high-knowledge healthcare products.
- Demonstrated success managing distributors across APAC or emerging markets.
- Track record of closing hospital, government, or private healthcare deals through channel partners.
- Knowledge of capital equipment sales cycles, tender processes, and clinical procurement models.
Clinical & Product Knowledge (Strong Preference)
- Familiarity with point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) clinical use cases, especially in EM, ICU, anesthesia, MSK, and primary care.
- Understanding of software-enabled value, cloud platforms, workflow integration, and PACS/EMR considerations.
- Ability to translate clinical value into commercial positioning and vice-versa.
Strategic & Operational Capabilities
- Ability to segment territories, build market entry plans, and influence distributor strategy.
- Competent with sales forecasting, funnel reviews, performance analytics, and partner KPIs.
- Experience aligning pricing, incentives, and channel economics to drive growth.
Language & Communication Requirements
- English: Fluent (business + technical + clinical communication).
- Mandarin Chinese: Strongly preferred for China/Taiwan partner engagement.
- Additional APAC languages a plus (e.g., Japanese, Hindi, Tagalog) depending on portfolio structure.
- Ability to communicate technical and clinical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Location
Butterfly offers a hybrid work model for most positions, with team members spending two or more days a week in the office. While flexibility is key, we value in-person connections that spark creativity and teamwork. Our offices are designed for collaboration, with comfortable workspaces, stocked kitchens, and opportunities to connect with peers.
This position is fully remote and shall be based in Australia. This position requires traveling up to 75% across APAC depending on territory footprint and business maturities.

Compensation
Our estimated salary for this role is between 165,000 AUD - 189,000 AUD + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
For this role, we are only considering candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States and who do not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
