About Cahill Contractors
We are a woman- and family-owned general contractor founded in 1911. We build residential, commercial, educational, civic, and healthcare projects. Our work includes commercial buildings, renovations (even occupied ones), community centers, schools (including labs), affordable and market-rate housing, OSHPD healthcare facilities, and continuing care retirement communities.
We work throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, with offices in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and a yard in San Leandro. We have been in the construction business for over a century.
Mission & Values
Our core values guide everything we do:
- Safety: We make safety a priority in every decision, using a proactive approach and open reporting. Our goal is “Zero compromises. Zero incidents.”
- Integrity: Since 1911, integrity has been key. We believe in open communication and accountability, always striving to “Do the right thing. Even when nobody is looking.”
- Client & Community Care: We are committed to delivering high-quality work and ensuring our clients are satisfied. We also support our local communities and employees. We listen, care, and aim to exceed expectations.
- Collaboration: We build trust and respect to create lasting relationships with clients, designers, and trade partners. We work together to find better solutions and “build amazing things.”
- Continuous Improvement: We encourage our team to learn and grow daily. We reflect on our actions and use feedback to improve ourselves and our company.
Team & Culture
We have a team of over 200 employees who work together in a collaborative environment. We value each team member and foster a culture where people take pride in their work.
Our team works closely with clients, architects, and trade partners. We encourage a builder mindset, proactively solving problems and supporting continuous professional growth through training and goal setting.
We also enjoy spending time together outside of work. Our social events include company sports leagues, happy hours, Bring Your Child to Work Day, and summer picnics, which help create a family-like atmosphere.
