We are a nonprofit organization founded in 2019 through the merger of GuideStar and Foundation Center.

We provide data and insights about the social sector, showing where money comes from, how it’s used, and its global impact. We offer research, collaboration, and training to help people and organizations find the resources they need to make a difference. We provide data on grants and nonprofits to help users find funding, research organizations, and connect with funders.

Our database includes 1.9 million organization profiles, 3 million annual grant transactions, and $180 billion in annual grant dollars. We collect, organize, and enhance this data with exclusive information, making it discoverable. Our data powers over 200 giving platforms, corporate giving programs, and donor-advised funds.

Our products include Candid search. It provides up-to-date grant and nonprofit data, research capabilities by mission, program, and location, financial overviews, and helps identify key decision-makers. We also offer APIs for real-time data updates and customized nonprofit data sets.

We specialize in data for charitable giving, charity, organization transparency, the social sector, grant services, IRS data, nonprofit services, and foundation services.

Our mission is to provide the information people need to do good. This makes it easier and faster for nonprofits and funders to connect.

We have a team of approximately 200 people. Our offices are in New York, NY; Williamsburg, VA; and Cleveland, OH, giving us a nationwide presence.
