At Channable, we’re building the future of e-commerce automation - and at the core of that vision is a world-class engineering organization. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Marketplaces Group, where you’ll play a key role in integrating e-commerce channels.

🚀 Your challenges:

As an Engineering Manager in the Marketplaces domain, you will lead an engineering department consisting of 4 team leads (your direct reports) who manage ~17 individual contributors.

You’ll be responsible for delivering maximum impact in the Marketplaces domain. You will partner up with an experienced Product Lead, with whom you will define and carry out a department vision, strategy, and roadmap. Engaged team leads and individual contributors are top of mind for you.

🛠 What you’ll do:

  • Drive the Marketplaces roadmap by balancing the overall Channable strategy and the Marketplaces’ specific opportunities

  • Quantify success by defining and measuring success metrics for the domain as well as team performance

  • Mentor and coach team leads to let them grow and excel at their jobs

  • Drive for high engineering standards by implementing good software development practices and challenging the team to come up with good designs

  • Improve and optimize processes that hamper productivity and can be more lean

  • Build a high-performance culture through fostering accountability, being on top of performance management, and focusing on employee engagement

  • You work based on data when you can, and you ensure future decisions take data into account

Requirements

💡 What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading team leads (preferred) or senior engineers

  • You have demonstrable experience in improving individual and team performance, as well as engagement

  • You have a history of being a software engineer and know how to build high-quality software, and the tradeoffs that are to be made

  • Outstanding communication skills - you’re just as comfortable talking to engineers as you are with stakeholders

  • A mindset focused on pragmatism and growth - you care about setting a high standard for yourself and your team and you continue to reflect to become more productive with minimal technical debt

  • Some practical things we expect from you:

You’re available for at least 32 hours per week

You are willing to come to our Utrecht office for two days/week

What do we offer?

  • Gross annual salary ranging from € 100k-120k, including 8% holiday allowance and based on a 40-hour work week.

  • Company-wide performance bonus, up to 10% of your annual salary, determined yearly by our founders based on financial planning and targets

  • Annual L&D budget of €1000 to spend on anything you want to learn. You can take full advantage of this to grow professionally.

  • Saving for old age - we have a savings scheme for old age, which can accrue up to 5% of your monthly salary, or you can get an additional +2.5% to your monthly base salary.

  • Traveling to our office? No problem, we got you covered (NS Business Card, or €0,23 per km if you decide to use a different means of transport).

  • To work in a beautiful historic and fully renovated office in the heart of Utrecht & with a flexible hybrid working policy of (minimum 2 days in the office).

  • Since you can work from home for 3 days a week, we will provide home office supplies.

  • Having flexible working hours means starting your day between 8.00–10.00 am.

  • 26 vacation days + 2 reload days based on 40 hours.

  • We offer a 3-week-long workcation; and an additional 3 weeks, if you live as an expat in the Netherlands!

  • Are you going to become a parent? We think it is important that you spend time with your newborn. Enjoy 5 weeks of 100% paid partner leave.

  • At Channable, our Chef and Commis Chef prepare fresh meals Monday to Thursday, catering to all dietary needs - including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free - to keep our team fueled and inspired! On Fridays, we switch it up by ordering in tasty sandwiches and salads. Or, you can go to the city center to get the lunch of your choice.

  • We want you to feel good - please feel free to use our discounted Urban Sport Club subscription.

  • You have free & anonymous access to the OpenUp platform, and psychologists. This free service is also available to your family members.

  • Channaweekend (we will go abroad in 2026 for a long weekend with all the colleagues from all over the world).
