Why you’ll love this role as Cost Accountant at Civica
We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Cost Accountant to assist with our G&A operations. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality financial insights, supporting functional leaders, and ensuring strong cost governance across the organization.
You will collaborate closely with Finance leadership and various cross-functional teams to deliver precise reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis that facilitates informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with G&A functional leaders to provide financial support and analysis
Conduct monthly reviews of G&A costs, including preparation of accruals and prepayments
Produce high-quality and insightful variance analysis to explain financial movements
Support forecast review sessions, including system updates and financial modelling
Review and challenge forecast changes to help functions meet budget targets
Assist in delivering accurate and timely business plans
Collaborate with the Central Finance team on month-end processes and reporting
Manage the capital expenditure (CapEx) process, including:
- Review and approval of CapEx requests
- Consolidation and forecasting of Group CapEx and depreciation
Participate in purchase requisition approval processes
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support as required
What you will need to be successful in this role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented and commercially aware finance professional with strong analytical capability and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across the business.
- 3–5 years of experience in management accounting, cost accounting, or similar finance roles
- Experience supporting business functions with budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday) preferred
- Strong involvement in month‑end reporting processes
- Experience in variance analysis, accruals, and prepayments
- Exposure to financial planning and CapEx processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Effective stakeholder management and business partnering skills
Preferred Qualification and skills:
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CMA (India), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
- MBA (Finance) from a recognised institution may also be considered
- Prior experience in a similar role within a large organisation
- Knowledge of SUN and Workday financial systems
