Director MSO Operation

💰 $160k-$190k

Job Description

At Clover Health, we are reinventing health insurance by working to keep people healthier. Our mission is to improve every life by providing compassionate, reliable, and equitable care to those who need it most. We believe the healthcare system is broken, so we’ve created custom software and analytics to empower our clinical staff to intervene and provide personalized care to the people who need it most.

Clover Assistant (CA) provides clinicians with real-time insights to improve care, and our Managed Services Organization (MSO) is the engine that drives CA adoption, integration, and performance across our provider network. By owning provider enablement, and performance management, the MSO translates our technology and strategy into measurable outcomes. This role sits at the center of that system, responsible for turning Clover Assistant from a powerful tool into consistent, scalable impact across the network.

This role will be focused on the NJ Market.

The Role

This is not a traditional operations role. You’ll operate in a high-ambiguity, fast-moving environment where priorities shift and clear playbooks rarely exist. You’ll be expected to create clarity, drive execution, and deliver outcomes with a high degree of autonomy under significant visibility from executive leadership.

Your mandate is simple: ensure Clover Assistant scales effectively across the provider network—turning strategy into consistent, measurable performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner directly with MSO and CCS leadership to drive “North Star” operations initiatives.
  • Own ambiguous, cross-functional problems end-to-end—from diagnosis to execution.
  • Build and run the operating system for provider growth and CA adoption, including metrics, reporting, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Identify what’s broken (or missing), design solutions, and push them through to results.
  • Diagnose and fix breakdowns in provider activation, onboarding, and ongoing utilization of Clover Assistant.
  • Lead high-stakes projects, executive reporting, and board-level narratives.
  • Own execution across Product, Analytics, Growth, and Provider Success—ensuring priorities translate into delivered outcomes, not stalled initiatives.

What Winning Looks Like:

  • Measurable improvement in Clover Assistant utilization across priority provider segments.
  • Faster provider activation and onboarding timelines.
  • Clear, trusted visibility into growth and performance metrics at the leadership level.
  • Cross-functional initiatives consistently deliver outcomes, not just plans.

How You’ll Be Measured in Year One:

  • Increase Clover Assistant utilization across targeted providers (PCPs and key specialties).
  • Reduce time from provider contract to first meaningful CA usage.
  • Improve performance of low-utilization providers (moving them above defined thresholds).
  • Increase number of actively engaged PCPs using CA (not just contracted).
  • Improve attribution rates by connecting members to high-performing PCPs.
  • Establish clear, trusted reporting used by leadership to drive decisions.

Who you are:

  • A high-judgment operator who gets things done, fast and well
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; you don’t wait for clarity, you create it
  • Analytical and structured, you can break down complex problems and drive decisions
  • Strong communicator who can influence senior stakeholders, including executives
  • Likely background: consulting, Strategic Chief of Staff, or scaled operations leadership
  • Experience working across functions and driving outcomes without direct authority

Benefits Overview:

  • Financial Well-Being: Our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent begins with a competitive base salary and equity opportunities. Additionally, we offer a performance-based bonus program, 401k matching, and regular compensation reviews to recognize and reward exceptional contributions.
  • Physical Well-Being: We prioritize the health and well-being of our employees and their families by providing comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. Your health matters to us, and we invest in ensuring you have access to quality healthcare.
  • Mental Well-Being: We understand the importance of mental health in fostering productivity and maintaining work-life balance. To support this, we offer initiatives such as No-Meeting Fridays, monthly company holidays, access to mental health resources, and a generous flexible time-off policy. Additionally, we embrace a remote-first culture that supports collaboration and flexibility, allowing our team members to thrive from any location.
  • Professional Development: Developing internal talent is a priority for Clover. We offer learning programs, mentorship, professional development funding, and regular performance feedback and reviews.

Additional Perks:

  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) offering discounted equity opportunities
  • Reimbursement for office setup expenses
  • Monthly cell phone & internet stipend
  • Remote-first culture, enabling collaboration with global teams
  • Paid parental leave for all new parents
  • And much more!
