General Summary:
The Software Consultant - Modernization is a pivotal member of the ConnectWise post-sale organization, responsible for leading targeted, high-impact engagements with complex partners. This role interacts directly with partners for consulting and implementation needs, focusing on driving the transformation of partners’ legacy solutions and services to the modern ConnectWise platform. The Software Consultant collaborates with various teams to deliver quality technical solutions efficiently by analyzing partner needs, conducting research, resolving partner issues, and documenting solutions while promoting best practices to our partner base. By combining deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and strategic consulting skills, the Software Consultant - Modernization drives digital transformation, delivers innovative solutions, and ensures exceptional partner experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead technical engagements with high-value partners, to support migration from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms. - Conduct migration readiness assessments and provide expert guidance throughout the end-to-end migration lifecycle to ensure smooth transitions to cloud environments. to end migration lifecycle to ensure smooth, low risk transitions to cloud environments.
- Facilitate and deliver migration sessions, providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and remediation during partner transitions to cloud solutions, supporting stakeholders from initial engagement through successful platform adoption and value realization. on technical support, troubleshooting, and remediation during partner transitions to cloud solutions
- Identify, manage, and resolve technical and operational issues during migration to minimize disruption and drive continuous improvement. Support operational planning and execution of consulting and configuration services, focusing on scalable and repeatable migration solutions.
- Communicate migration progress, operational plans, risks, and outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Capture partner feedback and operational insights and collaborate with product and process teams to improve tooling, workflows, and best practices.
- Deliver technical training, system configuration, and troubleshooting through webinars, onsite engagements, and remote sessions to enable successful cloud adoption.
- Develop and maintain concise solution documents and user guides for migration projects, documenting partner interactions and project outcomes to support scalable cloud migrations.
- Validate defects, resolve technical issues, and support custom engagements, providing clear documentation and structured communication.
- Manage multiple concurrent migration initiatives, balancing priorities while maintaining accurate project documentation and stakeholder communication.
- Support project management activities to ensure successful coordination and delivery of cloud migration engagements.
- Ensure high partner satisfaction by consistently delivering high quality experiences and maintaining strong customer feedback and survey results. quality experiences and maintaining strong customer feedback and survey results.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
- Ability to manage large projects and processes independently with limited supervision
- Recognized subject matter expert of applicable work area
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes as required by business and partner needs.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep knowledge of ConnectWise products – RMM, Automate, SIEM in particular
- Strong design documentation, presentation, and technical training skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong partner relationships.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent business experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in technical consulting, solution architecture, or enterprise software implementation.
- Preferred: Experience in technical roles within SaaS, automation, monitoring, AI
Working Conditions:
- Remote or Hybrid depending on location.
- 0–10% travel may be required for partner engagement.
