Your mission?
Joining Dailymotion’s Legal team means contributing to the growth of a pioneering company that relies on its talents to have a positive impact on society.
We’re looking for a motivated, energetic, and positive Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. You’ll work on two strategic pillars: privacy law and general business affairs. An exciting combo where you can truly make a difference.

Job Description
What you’ll actually do:
Privacy Side 🔐 – Because protecting our users is our priority:
- Partner with our DPO to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA, and other global data protection laws)
- Advise teams on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and privacy-by-design principles
- Act as the liaison with data protection authorities and handle regulatory inquiries
- Develop and maintain privacy policies, cookie policies, and data processing agreements
- Provide strategic privacy guidance to product, engineering, and business teams
- Lead engaging training and awareness programs across the organization
- Monitor evolving privacy legislation and anticipate their impact on our operations
- Oversee vendor privacy compliance and third-party data processing arrangements
Business Affairs Side 📝 – Because every contract matters:
- Draft and negotiate various contracts (in French and English) working closely with our teams in Paris and internationally:
- Content partnership agreements with media companies for hosting and distribution of video content
- Video player subscription contracts
- Advertising sales contracts (direct sales, programmatic, RTB…)
- Technical contracts (bandwidth deals, service agreements, software licenses…)
- Production, influencer, and talent agreements
- NDAs
- Conduct legal research and draft memos on diverse legal topics
- Draft legal correspondence (cease and desist letters, domain infringement notices, termination letters, recording waivers…)
- Register and manage trademarks and domain names
- Provide legal advice and training to operational teams across different departments and international subsidiaries
- Review legal templates (in French and English) for use by the Legal Team
- Update the Terms of Use of the Dailymotion Service
- Handle government authorities’ requests in compliance with our hosting provider status
Qualifications
- Your profile:
The essentials:
Fluent in both French and English (drafting and reviewing contracts in both languages)
Law degree from an accredited law school
4-5 years of relevant legal experience with demonstrated expertise in privacy law and data protection
Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently AND as a team player
Deep understanding of confidentiality with excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Solid knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA, and other international privacy regulations
The big pluses:
CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) or equivalent privacy certification
Experience at a tech, media, or internet company, or at a law firm with a privacy/data protection practice
