Dairy Queen

Our first location opened in Joliet, Illinois, in 1940. We have since grown to over 7,000 Dairy Queen (DQ) locations across the U.S., Canada, and 22 other countries. Our restaurants offer sweet treats and eats, including the signature BLIZZARD® Treat.

The DQ® and ORANGE JULIUS® brands are owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Our corporate headquarters are in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with additional offices in Canada and Singapore. From these offices and global field locations, our employees support independent franchisees. This support covers digital commerce, gift card programs, omnichannel strategy, marketing, operations, IT, customer relations, data and systems engineering, packaging, and field operations.

We aim to be the world’s favorite quick-service restaurant, believing that HAPPY TASTES GOOD®. Our mission is to create positive memories for everyone who interacts with DQ.

We support our employees through corporate giving initiatives like DQ Cares, which provides paid time off for volunteering. Since 1984, the DQ system has raised over $154 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® in the U.S. and Canada. All donations stay in local communities to support children’s hospitals.
