About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Tax Associate to join the Financial Planning Team within Private Clients.
The position would suit someone who has just completed their AITI qualification or is partly qualified and is looking to complete it.
The successful individual will have an interest in developing a career in private client wealth management using their technical specialist expertise. The person will work as part of a team of in-house financial planning experts (financial planners, pension specialists, tax specialists and protection specialists) with the client’s dedicated investment adviser to drive positive outcomes for existing clients and new prospects. This position will require the individual to use their technical expertise to highlight the tax considerations for high-net-worth individuals and families as part of the financial planning process. The successful candidate will be interested in business development and identifying ways in which the Davy wealth management offering can be refined.
In the role, the successful candidate will:
- Create goals based financial plans (with a particular focus on the client’s taxation and structuring concerns), incorporating pension, tax and protection disciplines to solve the client’s financial needs;
- Liaise with technical specialists within the team and Private Client Adviser’s in preparing and delivering financial plans, applying your built up knowledge and skills you will further acquire;
- Use internal cashflow modelling tools;
- Engage with clients both personally and digitally in the end-to-end process from factfinding to presenting financial plans;
- Continue to build upon segment specific solutions;
- Assist in the implementation of actions identified during the planning process including working with our clients’ external tax and legal advisors to ensure the client’s financial planning objectives are met;
- Produce regular reviews of financial plans to meet the changing needs of our clients;
- Assist with the production of other client material;
- Project work as required;
- Contribution to content creation;
- Comply with the Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures associated with the role.
About you
We are looking for somebody has the following background and skills:
An interest in developing a career in private client wealth management
Degree or Masters level qualification
At least 2 years’ experience in a client facing technical role
Comprehensive knowledge of Irish tax. Some understanding of pensions and investments is desirable.
Member of the Irish Institute of Tax (Chartered Tax Advisor) or partly qualified and looking to qualify.
QFA qualification (or willingness to complete)
Willingness to complete a further professional qualification is encourage (e.g. Trust and Estate Practitioner, Qualified Solicitor, Qualified Accountant, Certified Financial Planner (CFP))
Strong communication and presentation skills, in both a written and verbal context
A high level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated and entrepreneurial in nature with strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage large projects to a successful outcome
An ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to manage key stakeholders across the business with the ability to develop key relationships.
