About the role
An exciting opportunity has opened up in our IT Security team. Reporting directly to the IT Security Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening our security posture by monitoring, measuring, and improving the effectiveness of existing security controls. In the role, the successful candidate will:
- Assist with daily security monitoring and alert triage across security tools.
- Collaborate with teams to address vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and control deficiencies.
- Support identity & access governance activities, including access reviews.
- Perform security assessments and assist with compliance-related activities.
- Create and maintain policy and procedure documentation.
- Support risk assessments in response to change requests and third-party services onboarding.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal staff regarding security-related queries.
- Prepare monthly security metrics for management review.
- Assist with phishing simulations, security awareness campaigns, and user education initiatives.
- Stay informed on emerging threats, industry trends, and security news.
About you
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
- Ideally suited to a recent graduate with IT experience and a strong interest in cybersecurity.
- Solid understanding of vulnerabilities, access controls, logging, and general security practices.
- Experience with incident or alert handling at any level (SOC, SIEM, cloud logs, endpoint, etc.).
- Analytical, organised, and problem-solving temperament with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
Beneficial
- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or IT, or relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-200, SC-900).
- Exposure to Windows Server, Linux, Microsoft 365/Azure.
- Knowledge of Information Security and Risk frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
