About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Dealer on our Centralised Dealing Desk to join Davy within our Wealth Management division.
Reporting to the Head of Dealing, the successful candidate will play a key role in the execution, oversight, and governance of trading activity, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Management: Ensure the timely and accurate execution of all manual orders and monitor automated order flows in line with Best Execution requirements.
FX Execution: Execute foreign exchange trades efficiently and accurately in adherence to Best Execution policy.
Relationship Building: Maintain and develop strong working relationships with colleagues across Wealth Management and Davy Capital Markets as well as external stakeholders.
Governance & Compliance: Adhere to all procedures and processes in accordance with Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management standards.
Trading Support: Act as the primary point of contact for trading-related queries across Davy including market commentary, execution strategy, settlement, risk management, system operations, error resolution and corporate actions.
Operational Continuity: Ensure a smooth handover to the evening dealer to maintain seamless trading operations and be available on call in the evening if needed.
System Testing: Collaborate with the IS testing team on system upgrades, including the review and execution of test scripts.
Holiday Cover: Provide dealer cover during holiday periods, including Bank Holidays, to ensure order books are monitored effectively.
Training: Provide training for internal dealers preparing for evening shifts as well as new joiners.
Portfolio Rebalancing: Support the coordination and execution of investment selection portfolio rebalancing trades with internal investment teams and external specialised brokers while managing associated risks.
Performance Reporting: Contribute to relevant management information (MI) to monitor and measure trading performance.
Market Insights: Contribute to twice-weekly market news summary sessions covering global economic and equity news within the Wealth Operations department.
About You
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and capabilities:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
In-depth knowledge of trading operations, including trade lifecycles, post trade workflows and trading terminologies
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
A Business or Finance degree (or equivalent)
Knowledge of Figaro, Infront, Bloomberg EMSX & Fidessa is a distinct advantage
QFA qualification essential
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
Excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high level of enthusiasm

The position set out above is defined as a “Controlled Function (CF)” role, namely CF4 under Section 20 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and Schedule 1 of the Regulations (S.I. No. 437 of 2011) as amended.
