About Desktop Metal
We were founded in 2015 and are now part of Arc Public Benefit Corp. We focus on Additive Manufacturing 2.0, aiming for on-demand digital mass production of industrial, medical, and consumer products. We develop 3D printers, materials, and software to make metal and carbon fiber 3D printing accessible to engineers, designers, and manufacturers. We specialize in binder jetting and digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing, which we use to print metal, polymer, sand, ceramics, foam, and recycled wood.
Our main products include the Shop System for batch production of dense metal parts, the Studio System for office-friendly metal part production and rapid prototyping, and the X-Series for binder jet 3D printing of metals and ceramics. The PureSinter Furnace handles vacuum debinding and sintering. Our materials portfolio includes metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites, with innovations like DuraChain 2-in-1 pot resins, Flexcera, FreeFoam, and upcycled wood. Adaptive3D, which joined us in 2015, develops high-performance 3D printable resins, including DuraChain photopolymers. Azoth uses metal binder jet technology for small, complex metal components and helps manufacturers manage digital inventories through its Take One Make One (TOMO) strategy.
We serve over 800 customers, hold more than 100 patents, and offer over 250 materials. Our headquarters are in Burlington, Massachusetts, with engineering facilities across the U.S. (California, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas) and internationally (Germany, Italy, Belgium, Japan). Our distribution network includes over 200 partners in more than 65 countries.
