Industrial 3D printing platforms for metal, composite, and plastic parts, used in manufacturing.

About Markforged

We were founded in 2013, creating an industrial 3D printing platform we call The Digital Forge. This platform includes 3D printers for metal, composite, and plastic parts, along with custom metal and carbon-reinforced materials, and cloud software.

Our goal is to help designers and engineers quickly create production-quality parts. Companies like NASA, Google, Ford, Amazon, and Siemens use our technology for rapid prototyping and strong end-use parts. For example, our FX10 Printer can produce industrial metal and composite parts.

Customers tell us they’ve shipped products 50 times faster and reduced costs by 20 times. Our platform helps manufacturers save money, be more flexible, and maintain production.

We work in automotive, industrial equipment, federal and defense, and energy sectors. Our platform is used in over 70 countries, has produced more than 10 million parts, and has about 13,000 installations worldwide.

Our global headquarters, including engineering and R&D, is in Waltham, Massachusetts. We manufacture materials in Billerica, Massachusetts. We also have remote teams and partners across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to drive innovation in design and manufacturing. We build an industrial 3D printing platform that helps designers and engineers produce parts faster. Our technology allows anyone to create production-quality parts, helping customers solve manufacturing problems and strengthen their supply chains.

Our core values include being one team (we win together), taking ownership of our work, never stopping believing in what we do, being obsessed with customer success, striving for excellence, and daring to innovate so our customers can build anything they imagine.

Team & Culture

We have 201-500 employees. We believe in a collaborative environment where innovators and problem-solvers work together. Our team consists of driven engineers, problem solvers, and creative thinkers.

Our culture encourages employees to learn from each other and explore different roles. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone to be themselves, supporting groups like Women at Markforged (WAM+), Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC+), and LGBTQ+. We also support engineering outreach programs for underrepresented groups and have a sustainability council.

We’ve been recognized by Built-in Boston as a Best Place to Work and a Best Midsize Company. Wealthfront also included us on their Career Launching Companies List.
