About the role
Euromonitor International is currently hiring for an Associate Consultant to join its Cape Town office full-time.
The Associate Consultant will lead or support the research through unique autonomy in project design and client management. S/he will also work closely with our syndicated Industry experts to bring our best in client service and industry knowledge.
The incumbent will report to a Consulting Manager in Cape Town with day-to-day reporting for specific projects to other Consultants primarily but not limited to the MEAI and European region. The primary function of the AC role is to successfully execute the strategic objectives of custom research projects from our clients.
Euromonitor works with the leading industry players across different verticals and provides a diverse set of custom research solutions. The individual must be a self-starting, critical thinker with a structured yet creative approach to problem solving and an eye for detail. The successful candidate must be willing able to take full personal responsibility for delivering projects to high standards and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end‑to‑end project delivery, including briefs, planning, templates, and supporting materials
Develop hypotheses and insights using robust frameworks to address complex client challenges
Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative research to deliver high‑value analysis and reports
Oversee day‑to‑day management of analysts, including scheduling, communication, and quality oversight
Partner with internal recruiters to ensure projects are properly resourced with suitable analyst talent
Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables through validation, data checking, and interpretation
Coordinate with regional teams to align on project goals, timelines, and expectations
Maintain organised project documentation and folders for easy access across teams
Lead and conduct primary interviews with industry experts, companies, associations, and internal team
Perform thorough secondary research using internal databases and external sources
Apply mixed‑method research (data, surveys, primary interviews, syndicated sources) to answer client questions
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Consulting and Syndicated teams on projects and internal initiatives
Share and identify new research sources to strengthen project insight
Manage client communication from project kick‑off through to delivery
Develop clear, persuasive insights and C‑suite‑ready presentations
Confidently present findings to clients and address all follow‑up queries
Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the engagement
Support business development through capability pitches, needs‑assessment calls, and proposal input
Collaborate with commercial teams post‑delivery to explore follow‑on opportunities
Bachelors or Master’s degree in finance, economics, business, social sciences, engineering or similar with proven research, consulting and/or analytics expertise with at least 2-3 years of work experience in an agency or client environment
Industry experience in consumer or trade sectors and niche topic areas like sustainability desired, with an ability to build strategic analysis, presentations and report writing
Experience evaluating, manipulating, and analysing data sets from different sources
A curious and commercial mindset – you are keen to learn and understand things from a client’s point of view
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a high-paced challenging environment, to manage multiple projects and to meet tight deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Fluency in French/Portuguese will be an advantage
Advanced MS Office Computer skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel skills
Knowledge of other research methodologies or data analytics is a PLUS
