Job Description
Do you enjoy designing Terraform modules from scratch, building clean deployment pipelines, and rolling out new services to Kubernetes without endless approval chains?
Would you get a buzz from implementing zero-downtime release patterns that think big and include things like blue/green Subnets or whole platform canary deployments?
Then you’ll want to hear about what we’re building.
We’re investing heavily in our Internal Developer Platform: new Terraform architectures, AKS improvements, better ArgoCD patterns, enhanced observability, platform automation, and zero-downtime deployment capabilities that will transform how teams ship software.
If you want to build things properly and have the autonomy to shape the platform, this is the place to do it.
What will you be doing?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have enterprise experience developing and maintaining IaC (terraform). Deploying containerised microservice to AKS using ArgoCD, using GitHub Runners.
As DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Create new and maintain existing GitHub Action running on self-hosted runners
- Work with development teams deploying micro services to k8s clusters
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (Azure)
- Maintain several AKS clusters that make up the Internal Development Platform
- Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance requirements
- Automate repetitive tasks and processes
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Experience designing and deploying Cloud services, preferably Azure
- Strong hands-on experience writing and refactoring Terraform modules (not only applying existing ones)
- Solid Kubernetes experience including workload design, Helm charts, pod and cluster troubleshooting, and basic networking preferably AKS
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (self-hosted runners desirable)
- Good Linux experience, including WSL2 for local engineering workflows
- Understanding of zero-trust security principles and secure Azure networking
- Practical experience with encryption tooling and approaches (GPG, certificate management, TLS)
- Experience maintaining and working with YAML-based infrastructure, manifests, and configuration
- Exposure to observability tooling such as Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation patterns using Azure Entra
Desirable skills:
- Experience designing or improving Internal Developer Platforms
- Experience implementing zero-downtime release patterns (blue/green, canary, rolling deployments)
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies, we use Istio
- Familiarity with autoscaling technology such as KEDA
- Experience with Concourse
- Azure networking experience (VNETs, private endpoints, firewalls, ingress patterns)
- Understanding of SRE practices such as SLIs, SLOs, runbooks, readiness reviews
- Experience working in a regulated environment (financial services or similar)
- Experience contributing to platform automation or developer self-service tooling
