This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in our Toronto hub three days per week.
About the Team
The growth team at EvenUp is responsible for building intuitive, high-performance user experiences across the company’s AI-powered platform. This team partners closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver scalable web applications that help customers work more effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain frontend systems that power core product experiences
Translate product and design requirements into intuitive, accessible, and performant user interfaces
Work with senior engineers to support frontend architecture decisions
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver end-to-end features
Uphold best practices for performance, accessibility, and user experience
Learn from and contribute to a positive frontend engineering culture
What You’ll Do
UI & Frontend Development: Implement user interfaces for EvenUp’s AI-driven platform, focusing on performance and accessibility
Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to help bring new features to life
Frontend Architecture: Support architectural decisions for product surfaces and learn about scalability and maintainability
Design Systems: Help develop and maintain design system components and shared frontend libraries
Performance & Accessibility: Learn to optimize applications for speed, accessibility (a11y), SEO, and responsiveness
Ownership & Growth: Take on projects with guidance from more experienced engineers and participate in best practice sharing
What We Look For
Some experience with modern frontend technologies such as React (or similar frameworks), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Interest in learning state management solutions (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Jotai) and modern frontend architecture patterns
Experience or interest in working with design systems and component libraries; willingness to collaborate using tools like Figma
Curiosity about web performance optimization, accessibility standards, and responsive design principles
Exposure to frontend testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress; experience with git for version control
Willingness to learn modern frontend build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack) and CI/CD pipelines
Desire to ship user-facing products in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Bonus (Nice to Have)
Experience building AI-driven or data-heavy web applications
Familiarity with backend integration patterns such as REST APIs or GraphQL
Exposure to SSR frameworks like Next.js
Experience deploying frontend applications using Vercel, Netlify, or AWS Amplify
