About Fabric Cryptography
We develop hardware-accelerated cryptography solutions for real-time, high-performance systems with default privacy.
Our main product is the Verifiable Processing Unit (VPU), a custom chip designed for cryptography.
The VPU uses custom silicon with a System-on-a-Chip design. It includes an on-chip RISC-V multi-core processor for native witness generation. With a non-blocking network-on-chip and a high-speed unified memory architecture, it outperforms CPU, GPU, or FPGA implementations. Its custom instruction set is designed for cryptography, supporting finite-field arithmetic (32 to 384 bits) and optimized primitives for complex hashing.
We provide a software stack with an LLVM-based compiler and a reconfigurable library of primitives. This software supports algorithms like plonky2, plonky3, GKR, halo2, Jolt/Lasso, Nova, and TFHE. We also offer a data center platform for concurrent cryptographic workloads and a cloud service for advanced cryptographic operations.
Our hardware products include the FC 1000 chip. It has ultra-wide vector lanes, 40 tiles, RISC-V on every chip, and a high-bandwidth unified memory architecture. The VPU 8060 is a card with three FC 1000 chips, providing nearly 1 TB/s of memory bandwidth to 30 GB of memory. The Byte Smasher is a server that holds up to eight VPU 8060 cards, delivering over 1 TB/s of recursion-friendly arithmetic hashing per box.
We operate in the Computer Hardware Manufacturing industry.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to create a world beyond trust by providing hardware-accelerated cryptography for a trustless future, making privacy the norm. We want to expand what’s possible in cryptography, giving cryptographers and engineers the tools to innovate.
We accelerate core cryptographic primitives, creating a flexible foundation for turning research into real-world applications. We believe cryptographers and developers should be free to design products without worrying about how they are accelerated.
Team & Culture
We are a team of 11-50 employees. Our team includes GPU and AI chip architects, software and compiler experts, and veteran cryptographers. Many of us have over a decade of industry experience.
We use a ‘Codesign’ approach where software, hardware, and cryptography experts work together from the start to create solutions.
