About Fulcrum
Founded in 2018, we are a design and development agency specializing in custom web and mobile applications for early-stage startups, particularly in Healthtech and marketplace sectors. Our services span from proof of concept and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development to ongoing development and technology partnerships. We provide business analysis, UX strategy, functional requirements creation, UI design, product identity, and bespoke development for mobile (iOS and Android) and web platforms. We also offer product support and iterative development.
We use modern frameworks and technologies for application development, including ReactJS, Node.js, JavaScript, MongoDB, Redux/MobX, Bootstrap/Material design, and Firebase for web and desktop applications. For mobile development, we utilize React Native, Swift, Express.io, Vue.js, Jest, and Java. Our project management primarily follows the Scrum methodology. We also develop AI capabilities, such as LLM-based chatbots, real-time image recognition using Computer Vision algorithms, and personalized AI recommendations applicable across various fields like Ecommerce, Healthcare, and Social Media.
We help clients with compliance, covering regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR, and can establish processes to support FDA approval for telemedicine applications. We document all processes to ensure compliance and transparency. For non-technical founders, we offer a transparent process, explaining development in detail without jargon. Clients can access project status through tools like Jira and interact with team members via Slack. A dedicated Product Owner guides projects, and we conduct regular bi-weekly demos to show progress.
We have completed over 40 projects, some of which have gone from initial ideas to IPO. Applications we’ve built have reached a total market capitalization of $170M. We maintain a 4.9⁄5.0 NPS and have grown 70% year-over-year, serving clients worldwide. Projects include a 7-million-user gaming platform (BUFF), an educational platform for drivers in Norway (Kör), and a website overhaul for Mercedes-Benz Ukraine.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to “Turn ideas that inspire into products that help.” We operate under several core work principles:
- “Clarity in Everything”: This emphasizes transparency, open feedback, and understanding long-term goals. We document our processes to achieve this.
- “If anything can be improved, it should be”: This reflects our continuous pursuit of better methods and approaches.
- “Obsessed over clients of our clients”: This guides how we approach user feedback, problem-solving, and data-driven decisions.
- “Don’t just. Do it. Own it.”: Finally, this highlights team and individual accountability, encouraging us to impact products and share ideas freely.
We also prioritize projects based on whether they will help others and if we believe in them, aiming for global users. We believe: “We are a team, not a family,” focusing on professional collaboration and impact.
Team & Culture
Our team of over 100 individuals includes business analysts, tech leads, and engineers, and we encourage knowledge sharing. We emphasize hiring from the top 1% of candidates. Our work environment fosters a product-oriented and growth-oriented culture, valuing initiative, ownership, and accountability. We foster a friendly and open team culture, promoting collaborative project work. We operate with a Scrum methodology and maintain transparent processes. Employees provide direct input on project roadmaps and can experiment in our results-oriented, supportive, non-bureaucratic environment. Regular demos and transparent reporting are part of our daily workflow.
