Job description
Title: Staff Product Manager - Inpatient Clinical AI
Reporting to: Head of Product
Location: This role can be based remotely in the US
Opportunity:
We’re building inpatient AI that understands the patient, the clinician, and the moment — not just the chart.
You will own strategy and execution for Inpatient Clinical AI: a context-aware, hyper-personalized intelligence layer embedded into hospital workflows that adapts to patient state, clinician role, and care moments across the inpatient journey.
This role requires an entrepreneurial, hands-on product leader who can move fast, navigate ambiguity, and ship products that clinicians use in high-pressure hospital environments.
Responsibilities:
- Owning AI-driven clinical intelligence across inpatient workflows (admission → rounds → handoffs → discharge)
- Decision support that augments clinical judgment without disrupting autonomy or workflow
- End-to-end product ownership: strategy, roadmap, execution, and go-to-market from pilots to scaled adoption
- Cross-functional leadership with global engineering, clinical, design, and data teams
- Deep customer partnerships with health systems to validate, iterate, and drive adoption
- Setting product standards and patterns for how AI is responsibly deployed across inpatient workflows at GW RhythmX
- Identifying documentation and clinical gaps that impact LOS, quality, or reimbursement before discharge
- Delivering role-specific insights for hospitalists, nurses, case managers, and CDI teams
Requirements:
- 7+ years of product management experience with deep healthcare exposure
- Direct experience building products for inpatient hospital settings
- Strong understanding of hospital workflows: rounds, handoffs, discharge planning, multidisciplinary care
- Experience shipping products integrated into major EHRs (Epic strongly preferred)
- Deep empathy for hospitalists, nurses, and care teams
- Proven ability to take products 0 → 1 → scale in healthcare environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable defining success metrics and tracking outcomes
- Ability to work deeply with engineering and design to prototype, iterate, and ship
- Experience operating effectively across distributed, global teams
- Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information, including but not limited to electronic protected health information (ePHI), protected health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), and Get Well information based on data classifications in accordance with organizational policy and Federal, State, local, and international regulations.
Even Better:
- Hands-on experience building LLM-based clinical products
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG, clinical NLP, or summarization systems
- Understanding of AI safety, hallucination mitigation, and clinical validation approaches
- Technical depth to debug with engineers and make informed architecture tradeoffs
- Comfort working with SQL, clinical data models, and AI product KPIs
- Working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and healthcare integration patterns
- Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable)
- Experience with EHR integration and healthcare data exchange architectures
- Understanding of clinical validation requirements for AI/ML products
- Familiarity with HIPAA, BAAs, hospital IT security, and clinical governance
- Experience running clinical pilots, gathering real-world evidence, and supporting procurement reviews
- Awareness of the competitive clinical AI landscape and ability to define clear differentiation
About You:
- Entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives with autonomy and minimal process
- Strong design intuition; able to simplify complex clinical and technical UX
- Outcomes-driven: success is measured by impact, not activity
- Comfortable making hard calls and moving fast in ambiguous environments
- Preference for building and shipping over writing PRDs and decks
- Not afraid to make hard calls or move fast
- You don’t need detailed specs, rigid processes, or extensive direction to get the job done
