Payments are a critical lever for growth, trust, and global expansion at GetYourGuide. Our mission is to run a world-class payments capability that maximizes conversion, balances cost, and unlocks new opportunities—so travelers can book with confidence in every market, and teams across the company can move fast with clarity.
Your mission
As Head of Payments, you will lead the operational and partnership side of payments at scale across € 4B+ in GMV and 39 currencies, in a setup that includes multi-acquirer processing, an orchestration layer, and an external fraud tool. You’ll play a central role in enabling expansion into LATAM and APAC, while strengthening performance and resilience in our mature European and North American markets.
This role is a senior leadership position reporting to the Director, Traveler Products.
Based in Berlin, you will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Risk/Fraud, Finance, Legal/Compliance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure payments run as a high-performing global capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Payments operating model: Build a crisp, company-wide way of running payments—clear ownership, strong governance, and fast escalation when it matters.
- Payment performance: Turn data into action to lift success rates, authorization, reliability, and cost efficiency across markets and methods.
- Partnerships & negotiations: Own our key payment partners end-to-end—performance, accountability, and commercials that scale with the business.
- Expansion: Make payments a launch enabler for LATAM/APAC—repeatable readiness, local method coverage, and smooth rollouts.
- Build the payments function: Build the team, tools, and rituals that make payments a durable capability—not a hero effort.
Your toolkit
- Multi-year experience in a leading role within payments in a scaled, multi-market environment.
- Proven experience managing payment partners, including performance governance and commercial negotiations.
- A customer-first mindset—you see payments as a growth and experience enabler, not just a cost center.
- Ability to bring clarity to complex decisions by translating data into insights, trade-offs, and compelling company-wide narratives that drive action.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to align diverse teams toward shared outcomes.
