About the Organization
A mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on affordable housing is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial management and compliance of its affordable housing portfolio. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing financial reporting, reconciliations, distributions, and capital activity related to affordable housing entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financials and supporting schedules for joint venture partners
- Maintain equity, preferred return, and cash flow schedules
- Respond to JV financial inquiries and participate in recurring partner calls
- Prepare and process monthly and quarterly distributions
- Coordinate approvals with internal teams and JV partners
- Prepare and upload required lender reporting packages
- Support audits, tax return preparation, and regulatory requests
- Support annual and ongoing cash flow projections for partners and lenders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Affordable housing or nonprofit real estate accounting experience required
- Advanced Excel skills, Yardi or similar ERP preferred
$100,000 - $125,000 a year
