๐ง About the Decision Intelligence Team
At Gorgias, we believe that great decisions are a competitive advantage. The mission of the Decision Intelligence team is to enable faster, smarter, and more meaningful decisions across the company.
We build and power the Gorgias Decision Engine โ our integrated system combining infrastructure, data, context, decision products, and AI capabilities. It allows teams to access insights, automate workflows, and operate with clarity.
Our engineering team is structured around three layers:
Data Infrastructure โ pipelines, storage, orchestration
Context Layer โ dbt models, semantic layer, metrics, company knowledge
AI Engineering โ LLM agents, integrations, knowledge tools, workflow automations
Our flagship product, Cortex, gives any Gorgias employee instant access to deep company knowledge through natural language. It showcases whatโs possible when structured data and domain context meet well-designed AI systems.
Weโre hiring an AI Engineer to help us scale the impact of Cortex and build the next generation of internal AI tools.
๐ What You’ll Do
As an AI Engineer, youโll play a central role in evolving Cortex and building internal AI-powered applications that drive decision-making and efficiency across Gorgias.
You will:
Design and build AI applications using foundation models (Anthropic, Gemini, OpenAI) layered with our internal data and context
Expand Cortex: enhance capabilities, improve accuracy, and integrate into internal tools (Slack, web apps, internal dashboards)
Build and maintain LLM agents and automation workflows that improve access to insights and reduce manual work
Write detailed instruction sets to guide agent behavior across a wide range of tasks
Design interaction layers for agents, including UI/UX components, streaming responses, and human-in-the-loop control
Build internal systems to evaluate agent performance, track reliability, and identify improvement opportunities
Support internal teams in adopting and iterating on AI tooling across their workflows
๐ Who you are
You have 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong Python skills
Youโve built applications using LLMs via APIs or open-source frameworks (e.g. LangChain)
You move fast and adapt quickly โ you keep up with changes in the AI space and love building things that ship
You think in terms of value and iteration: ship โ learn โ improve
You’re comfortable working with data models, querying databases, and structuring input/output for AI systems
You stay organized, prioritize well, and can move between projects with clarity and focus
