Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Clinical Education to join our collaborative and innovative team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified medical professional with a strong interest in education to contribute meaningfully to the learning and development of the next generation of medical practitioners. You will play a key role in the design, delivery, coordination, and continuous improvement of learning and assessment activities within our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
As a Teaching Focused academic, your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality, student-centred learning experiences, while also engaging in scholarly and service activities that support the School’s educational mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, innovative, and evidence-based clinical education content for the Doctor of Medicine program.
- Act as a course convenor and contribute to academic leadership and curriculum development.
- Support high-quality learning outcomes through technology-enhanced and authentic learning practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success and well-being.
- Participate in scholarly activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in medical education.
This is a continuing, part-time (0.4 FTE - 40%) position based at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Please note, 0.2 FTE - 20% fractional appointments may also be considered.
The Sunshine Coast site is located on the land of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- A medical degree from a recognised educational institution.
- Ahpra registration or possession of an Aphra registrable clinical qualification
- Experience in teaching in an undergraduate or postgraduate medical program in academia and/or teaching of medical students in clinical settings
- Possession of a masters or doctoral qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and/or professional fellowship (e.g. FRACGP, FACRRM, FRACP); and/or progress towards completion of a doctoral degree or professional fellowship is highly desirable
