About the Opportunity
The Operations and Partnership Manager of the Griffith Data Trust (GDT) is responsible for implementing strategy and providing operational and technical leadership in the area of big data analytics and related technologies.
This role delivers specialist advice, leadership, and management for industry-collaborative project delivery to both internal and external stakeholders, including facilitating access to GDT’s data infrastructure. The position also provides oversight and support to the Social Analytics Lab (SAL), contributing to an integrated, university-wide data capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement of operations to enhance efficiency and drive growth and innovation.
- Support the Director in achieving annual revenue targets through delivery of commercial projects, partnerships, and training.
- Provide expert advice to clients and partners on data infrastructure, architecture, and analytics capabilities.
- Oversee delivery of complex industry-collaborative projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, budget, and quality.
- Coordinate and deliver professional training in big data analytics to external stakeholders, supporting research capability and data-driven practice.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and governance to strengthen performance and reporting.
- Build and maintain partnerships across industry and government to generate collaboration and funding opportunities.
- Ensure all projects and services meet performance, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and policies aligned with University requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team to deliver high-quality outcomes, ensuring performance targets and deadlines are consistently met.
About you
- The occupant of this position will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in data science (or a related field), along with significant applied experience in leading and delivering complex data or analytics projects in collaborative or evolving environments, including engagement with stakeholders and/or partners, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience contributing to analytical outputs such as reports, publications, or grant submissions and working at the interface of partner delivery and research-informed practice will be highly regarded.

This is a full time continuing contingent opportunity based primarily at the Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations

Salary
HEW 9 – Base range - $137,165.65 - $142,070.17 + 17%. Full package - $160,483.80 - $166,222.09.
