EmpowerED is Griffith University’s innovative University Preparation Program (EPP) designed to provide equitable access to higher education for diverse learners. It’s a non-award pathway program that helps students build confidence, academic skills, and readiness for degree-level study.
Job Description
The Program Support Officer (EmpowerED) works closely with the Academic Director (EPP), providing high‑level administrative coordination for program and course administration supporting the EmpowerED program.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide Expert Program & Course Administration: Deliver high-level administrative support for program and course development, review, renewal, and accreditation, ensuring compliance with university policies and governance.
- Support Academic Convenors: Collaborate with Academic Support Officers to manage course records, assessment board processes, enrolments, timetabling, and provide complex program-specific advice to students and staff.
- Drive Student Engagement & Retention: Monitor student engagement and retention using analytics, coordinate early intervention for students at risk, and support activities across the student lifecycle (orientation, mentoring, employability, graduation, and alumni engagement).
- Facilitate Program Review & Improvement: Assist with program reviews, benchmarking, curriculum renewal, and generate program-related data to inform continuous improvement and business innovation.
- Build Collaborative Relationships: Maintain strong working relationships with the Academic Director (EPP), academic and professional staff, students, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure effective program delivery and a high-quality student experience.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in higher education program and course administration, including accreditation and governance processes.
- Strong knowledge of academic policies, assessment governance, and curriculum management.
- Experience supporting Assessment Boards, enrolment and progression processes, and timetabling.
- Proven ability to analyse data to inform student engagement, retention, and program improvement.
- High-level organisational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with academics and professional staff.
- High proficiency in student information systems, curriculum systems, LMS, and Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
- A collaborative, service-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high-quality student experience.
What we can offer
Full-time, fixed term opportunity until 31/12/2027.Base Salary Hew 6 in the range of $91,843- $97,964 per annum plus 17% Superannuation. The salary including superannuation is in the range $107,456 -$114,618 per annum.
Primary campus is flexible, with some intercampus travel required. EmpowerED is taught across campuses, and as such, some time is required at Logan, Gold Coast and Brisbane South (Nathan) campuses.
Qualifications
- The occupant will possess relevant tertiary qualifications and subsequent work experience.
- Ideally applicants will have previously worked as a Program Support Officer or Academic Support Officer.
