We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr Accountant to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial reporting, audits, working closely with US GAAP standards and Henry Schein One accounting policies.
This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technical accounting expertise and financial operations – supporting consolidation, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
The preferred work arrangement is hybrid, based in American Fork, Utah.
What You Will Do
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and associated schedules in accordance with US GAAP, including the review and/or preparation of monthly subsidiary financial statements to ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting
- Review and/or prepare monthly subsidiary balance sheets and document key account movements, including cash, investments, equity, goodwill, development capitalization, and deferred revenue; record monthly consolidation entries to revalue equity
- Roll monthly deferred revenue accounts, book month end adjusting entries, and serve as the team’s subject matter expert on revenue recognition
- Calculate monthly development capitalization by business unit using development labor reports and input the corresponding adjusting entries
- Assist with the review and ensure timely reconciliation of group intercompany accounts, including running intercompany matching reports and inputting correcting entries
- Perform bank reconciliations for key accounts and input adjusting entries as required
- Prepare local currency cash flow files, including analysis of roll-forward details and fixed asset disposal
- On a quarterly basis, track the timely completion of footnote reporting packages and assist in verifying their accuracy for quarterly disclosure purposes
- Input and tie out monthly trial balance submissions from HS One international subsidiaries
- Prepare the consolidated P&L and reconcile and tie out submission totals to parent financials using NetSuite
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, taking on increasing levels of responsibility along the way
- Demonstrated expertise in software revenue recognition and ASC 606 standards
- Strong proficiency in US GAAP, HFM, NetSuite (or comparable financial consolidation and reporting systems), and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a knack for staying ahead of competing priorities
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to navigate complex issues and multi-task with ease
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complemented by confident presentation and public speaking abilities
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate conflict thoughtfully and deliver difficult messages with tact
- A natural relationship-builder, able to forge strong partnerships across all levels of the company and grow connections externally
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience in Public Accounting
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation
- Master’s Degree in Accounting
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude or Copilot to streamline analysis, reporting, or day-to-day workflows
The posted range for this position is $85,000- $110,000, which is the expected starting salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
