High Definition Vehicle Insurance (HDVI)

We started High Definition Vehicle Insurance (HDVI) in 2018 to offer better insurance to small and mid-size trucking fleet operators. We use telematics hardware, advanced software, and various services to help fleet owners manage their businesses. Our risk model incorporates telematics and dash cam data to better select, price, manage, and keep customers.

We offer competitive rates, comprehensive coverage, flexible payment terms, and no hidden fees. Our tools and services help fleets set goals, track safety, and work with their drivers. We reward safe driving with insurance discounts, which can reduce monthly premiums by up to 20%. Our HDVI Shift® policy is specifically for the trucking industry, giving monthly premium discounts to safe fleets.

We use real-time safety data from trucks throughout the policy to assess and manage risk, price policies, and handle claims. Our telematics-based risk models come from 3.5 billion miles of data from class 8 trucks. About 95% of our customers reduce hard braking or speeding within their first year. HDVI customers give out about $150,000 in safety rewards to drivers annually through our Drivers Rewards platform.
