Job Description
About Us:
Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. Created by an experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts, Homebound is transforming the residential construction industry by improving the costly and inefficient process of building a home.
We’ve created an entirely new way to build homes with technology powering every stage from start to finish to provide a seamless experience for our customers. Homeowners across the country can choose where they want to live, select a home plan that’s perfect for them, then personalize and buy it, all online. Homebound has raised $150M in capital from leading venture capitalists like Google, Khosla, Thrive Ventures, and we’re scaling quickly in places like Texas, Colorado and Florida. Come build your future with us.
About The Role:
Architectural design and process management play a critical role in Homebound’s ability to deliver high-quality homes efficiently across multiple markets. With architecture leading the early phases of a project, Homebound provides a common thread during pre-construction services - coordinating design, construction documentation, and preparing projects for submittal.
This role sits on the Architecture team within Homebound’s Architecture & Design Department, working closely with Product Strategy, Construction Operations, and external architectural partners.
The Architecture Associate is responsible for coordinating outside architects and consultants during pre-construction, ensuring that plan designs deliver on the needs of a particular market and homebuyer, comply with Homebound standards, and are ready on schedule for permitting and construction.
Unlike traditional architecture firms, Homebound operates with a hybrid model in which internal architects guide design direction, architectural vision, and project execution while working with a network of external architectural consultants who produce construction documentation. Architecture Associates therefore play a key role in managing consultants, coordinating design development, and ensuring architectural deliverables meet Homebound standards.
While Homebound is not a traditional architecture firm, we expect the Architecture Associate’s experience to be aligned with that of a Project Architect or Architectural Project Manager, capable of guiding consultants, reviewing design documentation, and ensuring projects progress efficiently from design through permitting.
In addition to managing project execution, this role also supports the development and evolution of Homebound’s plan series and home product, helping ensure that our homes balance production efficiency with thoughtful, high-quality residential architecture. The role also contributes to the development of exterior architectural character, materials, and design palettes, helping ensure Homebound homes maintain a strong architectural identity across markets.
Homebound is committed to delivering homes that feel thoughtful, distinctive, and architecturally refined - combining the efficiency of production building with the design sensibility typically found in custom residential architecture.
This role will primarily support Florida markets including Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Jacksonville, but could also work on projects in other national HB markets.
