About Industrious Labs
We founded Industrious Labs in 2022 as a non-profit dedicated to decarbonizing heavy industry. This sector is responsible for 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and we focus on cleaning up the production processes for materials like steel and aluminum, while also promoting a circular economy.
We partner with foundations and advocates to create and execute campaign strategies, bringing together diverse coalitions. Our work targets industrial sectors such as steel, aluminum, waste, pulp and paper, petrochemicals, industrial heat, cement, and chemicals. Through policy and campaign efforts, we aim to accelerate the adoption of clean energy and industrial decarbonization.
Some of our key initiatives include supporting the Sustainable Aluminum Network, leading a California campaign to shift the fertilizer industry towards green and local sources, and driving a campaign to transform the cement industry across the U.S. and Global South. We achieve this by advocating for state policy, building coalitions with labor, community groups, and farmers, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to decarbonize heavy industry by 2045. We aim to clean up how materials are produced and to advance a circular economy.
