The Role
The Engineering Manager is accountable for leading multiple scrum teams (typically two to three) to deliver high-velocity, high-quality product releases using an AI-First SDLC.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering Operations, this leader drives execution discipline, mentoring, and continuous improvement through automation, observability, and data-driven governance.
This role demands a hands-on leader who combines engineering depth with operational excellence — a manager who treats AI agents as team members, not tools.
How You Will Make An Impact.
1. Lead High-Velocity Delivery
- Own delivery of roadmap commitments across assigned scrum teams, ensuring 90 % + on-time release predictability.
- Use AI-augmented planning via ChatGPT, Cursor.AI, and Bolt.AI to accelerate grooming, estimation, and sprint planning.
- Drive daily stand-ups and retrospectives with real-time metrics from JIRA + Sentry to highlight blockers, RCA trends, and throughput.
2. Institutionalize AI-First Execution
- Embed AI copilots into every developer workflow for faster code generation, testing, and RCA.
- Automate QA validation using Testim and telemetry-based regression detection.
- Replace manual progress tracking with automated burndown and velocity dashboards integrated with CI/CD and telemetry streams.
3. Drive Engineering Quality and Reliability
- Monitor crash-free rates, defect density, and test coverage through Sentry, LeakCanary, and CI pipelines.
- Lead structured AI-assisted post-mortems to identify systemic issues and enforce preventive actions.
- Champion documentation excellence, ensuring every feature includes AI-generated design docs and test summaries.
4. Build and Coach High-Performance Teams
- Mentor Technical Leads and Engineers on AI-First engineering practices and telemetry-driven decision-making.
- Foster a culture of ownership, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
- Partner with HR and the Director of Engineering Ops to define hiring profiles for AI-literate, high-throughput engineers.
5. Partner Cross-Functionally for Business Impact
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer Success to translate user feedback into actionable improvements.
- Ensure engineering outcomes align directly with business KPIs — reliability, uptime, cycle time, and customer satisfaction.
What You Bring to The Team
- 10 + years in software development with 4 + years in an engineering-management or lead role.
- Proven record of delivering enterprise SaaS products using Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Strong grasp of React Native / Angular + Node.js architectures and API-driven ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with AI development and observability tools — ChatGPT, Cursor.AI, Bolt.AI, Testim, Sentry, LeakCanary, JIRA.
- Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams and instill engineering discipline, velocity, and quality.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and mentoring skills; able to bridge executives and engineers seamlessly.

- AI-First SDLC cadence operational across all assigned scrum teams.
- Sprint velocity ↑ 40 % through automation and AI copilots.
- Defect density ↓ 50 % and mean-time-to-RCA reduced via telemetry insights.
- Engineering dashboards live showing delivery, quality, and predictability metrics.
- Measurable uplift in team engagement and cross-functional collaboration scores.
