Our client is a well-established, Miami-based financial services company. The organization is part of a broader international group of companies and serves clients across multiple markets.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a technically strong accountant to join a small, high-performing finance team and take full ownership of the accounting function.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting operations of the Miami entity, as well as supporting accounting for several smaller entities within the broader group. The role involves a degree of technical complexity, including multi-entity financial reporting and consolidations, making strong foundational accounting knowledge essential.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role suited to someone who is self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a lean team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, accruals, and general ledger postings
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Maintain and reconcile trust accounts, including trust payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations, in adherence to applicable trust accounting rules and regulations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Support financial statement consolidation across group entities
- Prepare management reporting packages on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Process bi-weekly payroll and assist with benefits administration
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare working papers for interim and year-end audits
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, including automation and reporting enhancements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3β5 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is an asset
- Experience with trust accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft 365, particularly Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Preferred:
CPA designation or equivalent β strongly preferred given the technical complexity of the role
Experience with XERO accounting software
Background in financial services, insurance, or a similarly regulated industry
Experience working in private industry
Experience with multi-entity consolidations
Base Salary: $75,000 β $115,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Quarterly Performance Bonustied to defined objectives
