Job Description
Overview
FleishmanHillard is the world’s most complete global communications firm, specializing in public relations, public affairs, marketing, paid media, and transmedia and social content. FleishmanHillard delivers on The power of true, reflecting the firm’s high values and unique ability to guide clients through a world demanding unprecedented authenticity and transparency.
The San Francisco office has an immediate opening for an Account Executive or Senior Account Executive to join us in a hybrid role in our rapidly expanding technology advisory practice. This position is ideal for an organized, collaborative team player who is excited about supporting communications strategies for enterprise technology and cyber security companies. You’ll help clients differentiate through authentic storytelling that resonates with key stakeholder audiences: investors, employees, policymakers, and talent markets.
In this role, you’ll help tech and cyber security companies move beyond product messaging to build cohesive narratives about their innovations and their broader impact. You’ll execute media-first communications programs under the guidance of senior team members, learning how to position clients as thoughtful industry leaders rather than just product vendors. You’ll develop skills in both traditional PR execution and modern, integrated communications. This is a great opportunity to build your foundation in technology PR while learning how authentic communications strategies drive client results—and your career growth.
FleishmanHillard values the importance of impact and inclusion to strengthen the bonds between us, grow our people and create spaces for everyone to thrive. We stay true to our commitment to our people and the communities in which we live and work. As part of our ongoing effort to be the world’s most inclusive agency, we are committed to seeking candidates who possess and demonstrate a profound interest in furthering our impact and inclusion goals.
Responsibilities
- Support senior team members in executing communications strategies for mid-market and enterprise technology and cyber security clients, learning best practices in strategic positioning and stakeholder communications.
- Assist in maintaining media relationships by building media lists, conducting outreach, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with journalists and media contacts on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with senior account managers and strategy leads to develop messaging frameworks and story angles that translate technical products into clear, differentiated positioning for target audiences.
- Support the execution of integrated communications campaigns across PR, digital, social media, and employee communications channels, helping ensure alignment with core narrative while executing assigned tactics.
- Conduct research on market trends and competitive dynamics under guidance from senior team members; identify positioning opportunities and help translate insights into communications recommendations.
- Manage day-to-day client deliverables including coverage tracking and reporting, drafting communications materials, coordinating with media contacts, updating project timelines, and maintaining organized communication with clients on project status.
- Work collaboratively across team members to coordinate multiple project tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain quality output in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Support new business development by assisting with pitch preparation, client research, and proposal development under senior team direction.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of communications, marketing, or PR agency experience, with a working understanding of technology, cyber security and business fundamentals.
- Demonstrated interest in media relations and comfort with direct outreach to journalists in technology, cyber security, business, or trade media. Understanding of how earned media works and enthusiasm for building journalist relationships.
- Familiarity with the modern communications landscape including owned, earned, and social media channels. Experience supporting or executing communications campaigns with a multi-channel approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to draft client emails, internal communications, blog posts, and talking points. Comfortable presenting ideas in client meetings and to team members.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects with competing deadlines. Ability to work productively within a collaborative team environment and take direction from senior colleagues.
- Self-motivated problem solver with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Eager to develop expertise in technology PR and client management.
