Job Description
The Opportunity
The Student Enrollment and Data Operations Team is focused on ensuring that schools are fully enrolled so that students are free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities. The team supports this vision through application acquisition, family onboarding, cultivation, and persistence. The creative services manager position will reside within the marketing team and will manage the marketing team’s print and digital creative outputs–from concept to on-time completion. Reporting to the senior director of marketing, this role works with the members of the marketing team, various KIPP Texas enrollment departments, and external vendors to ensure all stakeholders are working together to develop the strongest creative materials and brand presence possible in support of student and staff recruitment, New-to-KIPP enrollment, and student engagement and persistence.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as primary creative design point of contact for the marketing team
Manage the asset production queue and effectively communicate timelines and progress
Ensure effective cross-functional communication between the marketing team and other teams throughout the organization (Student Recruitment, Talent Recruitment, New-To-KIPP Enrollment, School Operations, etc.)
Champion our internal creative processes and effectively manage/utilize our project management software
Build marketing concepts/visual products from written or verbal ideas
Actively contribute to the creative process and creation of creative assets and ensure they are in-line with the approved marketing briefs, strategies, and goals
Assist in execution of all collateral (not limited to flyers, billboards, brochures, digital ads, etc) by, contributing to and reinforcing brand guidelines and ensuring legal compliance
Lead content marketing strategy, implementation and management of resources in partnership with marketing teammates
Provide primarily graphic design and/or occasionally copywriting support on a variety of special projects
Represent the marketing team in various cross-functional meetings, such as timeline reviews, marketing kick-offs, department touch-bases and more
Co-manage design timelines related to implementation of marketing plans (including campaign launches, social media campaigns, event marketing, etc.) and communicate with all relevant parties to ensure deadlines are met
Establish & consult on realistic creative timelines for each project; Maintain firm but respectful boundaries around timelines and workload
Manage and assist in planning for and organizing freelance or outsourced capabilities when needed
Work hands-on in creative production; from concept to photoshoots to file delivery
Assist with additional tasks/projects as assigned by the senior director of marketing
Protect the voice, look, and integrity of the KIPP Texas brand
Qualifications
Qualifications
At least 3-5 years of creative, design, marketing, and/or agency experience
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required; Proficiency in Canva preferred
Strong understanding in delivery of both digital and print
Must have a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of creative projects
Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, layout and branding principles
Excels at and enjoys creative project management and day-to-day designing
Hyper-organized and has the ability to motivate others to align to timelines and deadlines
Strong communication, project management, and client relationship skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and change direction in a fast-paced environment
High-level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information
Self-starter with a strong aptitude for solving problems both individually and as a team
Strong written and verbal communication with both internal and external resources
Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and collaborative aptitude
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related degree preferred but not required
Bilingual speaker - English & Spanish - preferred
Translating copy between English and Spanish is a plus
Photography and videography experience preferred; Animation experience a plus
Additional Information
Applicants are required to live in or near a KIPP Texas region: Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, or San Antonio. Flexibility available based on the number of miles from employee home to HQ office.
This is a hybrid role in compliance with KIPP Texas policies. This role is required to report to the KIPP Texas HQ office in their region 3 days per week (Mandatory Attendance on Wednesdays) and can work from home 2 days per week.
