About Rocketship Public Schools

We are a non-profit network of public elementary charter schools established in 2006. Our goal is to improve student achievement, develop our educators, and work with parents to provide high-quality public education in underserved communities. Our educational approach, called the Rocketship Model, focuses on three areas: Personalized Learning, Talent Development, and Community Power.

We have served 33,567 students since our founding. A 2023 Stanford CREDO study found that our students gained five to seven additional months of learning in one school year. Our schools are free, public, and open to all students.

We specialize in eliminating the achievement gap, empowering parents, leadership development, personalized coaching, curriculum development, data-driven instruction, talent development, and content specialization. We operate schools in California, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Washington D.C.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to unleash the potential of every student we serve and transform the future for underserved communities. We are dedicated to creating a future where everyone has equal access to opportunity.

Our core beliefs, which guide us, include:

  • We believe in the potential of all children and are building a movement for educational equity in disadvantaged communities.
  • We invest in the growth of every team member through instructional frameworks, professional development, and real-time coaching for teachers.
  • We foster strong partnerships between families and schools to address student needs and empower parents as advocates for educational equity.
  • Our elementary teachers specialize in either Humanities or STEM. This allows for deeper subject matter expertise and collaborative grade-level team work.
  • We acknowledge the challenges in working towards equal access to opportunity, but we emphasize the gratification of collective problem-solving and student success.

Team & Culture

We employ between 501 and 1000 people. Our culture brings together parents, teachers, leaders, and students. We aim to create an inclusive, high-performing, and equity-focused environment where people love to work. Our employees are continuous learners who embrace change, take ownership of results, and always work to improve their skills. We emphasize building relationships, collaboration, good judgment, and adaptability. We are committed to supporting teacher growth while driving student progress. Achieving educational equity is challenging, but we find it rewarding.

Benefits & Perks

We offer employees health and wellness benefits, a 403b retirement plan, a flexible spending account (FSA), and paid time off.
